Values Statement
We value:
- the diversity of our community which includes different ethnic and
cultural backgrounds, incomes, ages, family types, sexual orientations, and
spiritual paths
- children and elders in our community.
- each other’s privacy
- honesty, cleanliness, non-harming, non-stealing, simplicity, and being
helpful to others
- regular community gatherings and celebrations with vegan potlucks.
- common facilities and areas such as the laundry/mail room, the common
room, garbage and recycling area, the balconies, walkways and the parking
spaces.
- frugal use of energy and resources, such as electricity and water
- organic gardening, composting, local food production
- the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle
- sustainable practices such as the harvesting of rainwater and solar energy
- human powered transport and its infrastructure, both on-site and in the
wider community
- a screening process for prospective new residents before joining the
community
